Online 1:1 German coaching
Find your voice in German. Feel more at home in Switzerland.
You have things to say.
At work, with friends, in everyday conversations. But sometimes your German doesn’t let you express them the way you’d like to.
That’s what we can work on together.
Maybe you recognise yourself here
Everyone comes with something different. Here are a few situations you might know, and what can change once you start working on them.
Sounding like yourself
Your German works, but it sounds like a textbook. In English you make people laugh. In German you play it safe and say much less than you would like to.
And then one day, you make a joke in German, and someone laughs.
Coming across as competent at work
You know your field very well. But as soon as your manager joins the meeting, the words are gone and you feel less clever than you are.
Until you can follow the discussion and contribute your own ideas, without constantly worrying that you’ve got it all wrong.
Joining the conversation as a parent
At the meeting with your child’s teacher (Elterngespräch), you just nod along. On the sidelines at football, the other parents chat, and you’d rather say nothing.
And then you find yourself asking your questions and joining in on the sidelines.
Working with people every day
Your job means talking to a lot of people, and you need German that holds up in those conversations.
And over time, those conversations become a normal part of your day.
Coaching
You bring the challenge, and we find the way together.
I’m a certified Neurolanguage Coach®, and I don’t decide for you what you need to learn. I listen, ask questions and help you find strategies that work in the situations you deal with. Maybe what matters most to you is being able to share your thoughts and ideas, even if your grammar isn’t perfect. Or perhaps there’s a situation where you know you can speak German, but somehow the words don’t come.
Sometimes it helps to talk about a conversation that didn’t go well. We look at what happened, where you got stuck and what made speaking difficult for you. Then we explore what you could try next time. There is room for that too.
How WE WORK
We start with what you want to say
There is no book we work through. We start with your goals, the situations in which you’d like to use more German and what you already do well.
In our sessions, you speak. We work on the words and structures you need to express your thoughts, using situations and topics from your own life. Vocabulary lists come afterwards, from what you wanted to say.
Grammar comes in where it helps you get your idea across, and we practise it in your own sentences until it comes more easily. You get real speaking practice and specific feedback on what you said.
Language gives you a voice.
Being able to ask, explain, disagree or simply join in can change how you experience everyday life in Switzerland.
Hi, I’m Nadia.
I enjoy helping you find a way to actually use German in your everyday life. I don’t think German needs to become your superpower for you to achieve your goals and feel comfortable using it.
A little more about me ↗
I’ve been working with people learning German in Switzerland for over 15 years. I’m also a certified Neurolanguage Coach®. I’ve lived abroad myself, so I know what it’s like to go through daily life in a language that isn’t your own.
I founded Swiss Language Studio to bring together my two areas of work: German coaching for everyday life and work, and preparation for German language exams.
Whatever brings people to me, my favourite moments are when clients tell me they’ve felt the shift and realise how much has changed.
«Oh mein Gott, endlich!»
Like walking out of a meeting and realising, for the first time, how naturally it went, without constantly worrying about your German.
To me, that’s progress too. Not just reaching the next language level, but noticing what you can now do with your German that felt difficult before.
Those are the moments I love being part of.
She finds you precisely where you are, regardless of your ability; and then knows exactly which levers to pull to get you to the next level. But you won’t hardly notice that she’s pulling them: the hours will fly by.
Tell me where German is still getting in your way.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Just send me a message and tell me where you’d like things to feel easier.
